Balancing Innovation and Tradition
1/2/2024
As a product manager in the tech industry, I often find myself at the intersection of rapid innovation and timeless traditions. This tension isn't just professional – it's deeply personal.
## Reluctant Futurist
I didn't choose this title lightly. Being a "reluctant futurist" means acknowledging that while change is inevitable, not all change is progress. It means being thoughtful about which traditions we preserve and which we leave behind.
## Finding Balance
In my role as a product manager, I've learned that the best solutions often come from understanding both the cutting edge of technology and the fundamental human needs that haven't changed for centuries.
As a parent, this balance becomes even more crucial. How do we prepare our children for a future that's increasingly digital while ensuring they understand and appreciate the analog world that shaped us?
## Moving Forward
The key, I've found, is not to resist the future but to shape it thoughtfully. To be reluctant not out of fear, but out of wisdom. To move forward while keeping sight of where we've been.
